Portrays Remarkable Women in History

Harriet Beecher Stowe
The Andover Years
Harriet Beacher Stowe was dubbed "the most famous woman in America" after she wrote Uncle Tom's Cabin. President Lincoln called her "the little lady who wrote the book that started this big war." Stowe, played by storyteller Susan Lenoe, reminisces about her role in the abolitionist movement, her family joys and trials, and her life in Andover, Massachusetts where she lived for twelve years.
“With great artistry and minimal props or costume,
Susan Lenoe transforms herself into the essence
of each character that she plays.”
Jo-Ann Wangh, Master Storyteller
